1st question. sense my install of long tubes and i had to remove my dipstick i cant get it to go all the way back in. the 2nd i flange (if thats what you would call it) is about a half inch above the hole still. does anyone have any idea how i can get this thing to seat properly. im loosing oil like a mother.

2nd question. you know the tube that runs from the smog pump to the h-pipe, and to the the back of the head, i want to remove that sense i dont have to go threw emissions for 2 years( i went before i got my exhaust on). what will i need to plug? the tubes coming from the back of the head or do i leave it exposed to air?

well dude, sorry, I don't know exactly what you should do, but i'll just give you an idea that you've prob. already tried...can you bend the dipstick tube a little, not actually bend it, just kinda you know, move it around different directions for fitment...never done long-tubes, so I don't know much about that.

As far as pulling the smog pipe, I know you gotta plug the hole in the h-pipe, but i'm sure you knew that. I'm not sure about the heads

ya the hole in the h-pipe was welded shut when i got it thats why i dont wana mess with it for 2 years. it moves all around its not bolted to the headers yet sense it isnt seated properly thanks for the help

Do you know what a crows foot socket or have one? If you have axcess to one, find one that is big enough to fit around the tube snug. It will be small enough to fit on top of the knurled ring on the tube. Take an extention long enough to reach the hole and tap the tube down with a hammer. Meaning connect the extension to the crows foot and put the crows foot around the tube and drive it down. I have done this many time on various model of stock applicationa and it works great. I don't know what kind of clearence there is a header application.

well the thing is i know how much of a pain in the but it is to put that thing on and off so i just want to leave it there sense i will need it back on in a few years. so i just took all the rubber hoses off from the smog to the h-pipe and to the back of the head. they sat to close to the headers and i fegured in 2 years i would have to buy new ones anyways. so i might as well just take it off till then and not have to deall with it.
