Well I got the front u joint installed successfully. Now I dont remember how the rear goes back together. I got the rear u-joint attached to the driveshaft, but I need help attaching it to the rear end.

Are the snap rings used on the bearing caps that the U bolts go on? I don't see how they went back on. And none of my manuals show a good picture. Here are some pictures I took. I know its going to be easy but I just forgot how it was before. Please help!!!

No clips are used when bolting the joint to the rear end yoke. Just take them off and your U joint should fit into the yoke nicely. The joint should fit nicely between 2 small raised up areas that help to center it in the yoke.

Sometimes you have to work a little to get the U bolts into the holes.

BTW, I would have installed the grease fitting so it faced the driveshaft, not the yoke. Makes it easier to grease the joint

Thanks! I shouldn't have to grease the u-joints anytime soon anyways. And when they do go bad i'll just replace them with those Spicer u-joints. I didnt find out about those until today. O well.

I triple checked em all. How would I know if some were missing? Oh and I fixed my high speed vibration problem!

Henry was offering some general advice for any U-joint replacements. Triple checking and careful assembly works well and fit within this realm.

Glad your vibration is gone--you must have been overdue on the U-joints.

Good Luck!!!!!
