I have the lokar kickdown cable have the throttle bracket ordered. I have the stock linkage on my car do I need to lokar throttle cable or can I use my stock linkage? If I need the cable how do I connect to the stock pedal? I am using wiend stealth intake with 4160 holley carb. Thanks again for the help.

Also anyone know of anyway to use a shifter that is for a c6 with the aod. it is cable hurst shifter but the bolt up plate does not match the aod????

you can use the stock throttle linkage from the pedal to the carb with no problem. as for the shifter, check with the manufacturer as they may have a kit that will update your shifter to use with the AOD. otherwise it is new shifter time.

Here's a pic of my AOD shifter and TV connections (I know the bolt is not tight, it was a test fit):

I had to change my throttle linkage, but NOT because of the AOD. It did not work with the Holley.

The stock C6 shifter should work fine if you can fabricate (or buy) the correct rod to connect it. Since you have an aftermarket shifter I'd suggest you contact the manufacturer. I'm pretty sure it will work if you can get the correct part from Hurst though.

I reused all the old parts from my 68 on my AOD. I am still using the stock shifter, but with a longer shift rod. I am not using a TV cable because the original kick down cable works the same way in that it is a 1:1 motion. This set up has worked good for the last three years with no issues.
