need help with brake light problem

I now have a funny problem with my brake lights. It seems that when i push the pedal lightly the brake lights come on only for a second and then go out. It is not until i have the brake pedal pushed near all the way that my brake lights come on and stay lit up. thanks in advance for your replys - Jim

Your brake lamp swich is probally bad, it's the sensor connected to the brake pedal near the top.
