Hey guys,
I have a primarily stock 98 GT (see sig), and its unfortunetly Automatic :( . Reguardless, i was wondering if any of you guys (auto-guys pref) had any tips on launching at the track with the auto trans. I obviously can't dump the clutch :) so how you guys do it. Maybe powerbrake and release at the launch? It would get the rpms up, and heat the tires at the same time. Any input would be apreciated. Thanks guys :nice:

If you do a brake tourque at the line and let go you will just spin the tires and won't get traction. I tried that in my friends Stang that was an auto didn't work that good. It easier with mine cuz its a stick....lol

i was just about to ask the same question about my 03 GT.

in my old S10 (4.3, auto) I would 2 foot it, hold the brake, rev it up to around 1k and launch... this will result in crappy traction in a GT?

Give me ideas, I'm not afraid of trial and error. I'll do a TC after the warranty is up.
