Need help with new motor please!!

Ok I have bought a new to me but a used motor that has been rebuilt. It is a 302 with a e-cam,gt40p heads, Trick flow street heat intake, 24lbs inj., 24lb 73mm mass air,70mm throttle body, mac long tubes, new cap and rotory button. Ok so here is the problem we are having problems with the timing. It wants to sputter and kick and jerk alittle when driving. Idle is at about 850 rpms. Ok also another question. I have the gt40p heads on the motor. Is there any kind of special spark plug or spark wires that I need to get? And also what does the timing need to be set at?

make sure you dont have your dizzy 180 off but timing around 14 should be ok with the spout out..

Yeah 14 is probably good thats base timing with the spout out. Also the bucking might be because ur car needs a tune it might also have idle hunting problems with the Ecam.

my idle does not hunt at all. it does however hang and i have low rpm bucking.

Yeah not everyone has it, but it is much more common with the alphabet cams.
