Need help with understanding numbers

So i have my motor on a stand as i work on the actually body and preping it for paint so i decided to work on the motor while it is out as well ... so i take the valve covers off and remove gaskets and i find numbers under each of my roller rockers on top of the heads right where the gasket for valve cover touches the heads ... the numbers range from 1.850 to 1.930 and each number between intake and exhaust valves are all different ... are these numbers for the shims for the valve springs or milling of the valves? can someone help me understand these numbers?

bump please i just wanna know what these numbers could possibly mean and i cant use a search because i dont know how to word it

Sounds like installed height of the springs, I do a similar thing when I set heads up.... HOWEVER, they should be very close to the same...or atleast the intake and exhaust common.

Yeah all the intakes and exhaust are about .005" off eachother but it sounds like the height?

Yeah, installed spring heights. There's nothing else in that area that would measure out to those numbers.

So when I remove any of those springs put em back the same spot I found em?

Or if I install new springs have them to the same specs?

Along with the shims and locators (if they have locators) under the springs, same height locks and retainers. If you change anything they need to be checked and reset.
