All I really need is a base. I'm only using it as a mock-up for my latest hair-brained scheme, so I do not want to invest in anything that will probably end up in the recycle bin when I'm either done w/ the project, or I consider the project a lost cause.

It'd be better if whoever has one didn't live in Bangladesh as well. Freight could exceed the cost of this guinea pig.

Sooo,...Who has one?

I don't have a 5.0 either.

Thanks for the help though, I'm gonna let Rick send me his and I'll reimburse his expenses after the fact .

I'm very curious to see what your experiment with this intake is going to be.

I'm gonna try and expand my options.

I wanna be able to use this:

or this:

or this:

on this:

I intend to build adapter plates to allow me the option to use a 302 carbureted intake manifold on my 4.6. The ports are so far apart a 302 intake will sit in between w/ probably 2-3" on each side. Right now, I plan to use 3/8" steel plate on the head and intake mating surfaces, and probably 2.25 round header tubing for the transitions. I'll have to do something about the alternator, maybe get a smaller one and put it on the rear end, or turn this one around and drive it off the existing belt.

That was the reason for the E85 thread, to determine what people thought of it if I choose the last option and put the huffer on it. either way, I'm keeping it old school carb'd, just maybe add 2 or 4 more barrels, or some boost to the mix.

Hell, Mike. Why waste time with making the 5.0 junk fit? Why not just a sheetmetal intake and be done with it? I've even made one, surely a man with your talent can. No offense, just curious.

I cannot make a sheet metal intake that will allow me to run 3 2's, 2 4's or that blower as easy as making the adapters. And once those adapters are made, I have the flexibility of running whatever I choose. I remember some company made those adapters to allow those intakes to fit a 4v, but not a 2v. I think Kar Kraft made them. ( the same guys that brought us the Boss 429 conversion) Unfortunately KK is gone.

Well, ok I guess. The one I made looked kinda like this with the plate on top of the plenum that screwed down... and you could remove it for two fours, one four...whatever. If I wanted a blower on it just cut out another plate... I did have to run a massive cowl to keep it under the hood though.

Wish I would have kept it!

Well,
#1, I can't tig very well on steel. I can't tig at all on aluminum.
#2 Unless I make a boxed plenum that spans the entirety of the port spacing, I'll have to deal w/ welding aluminum tubing bends.
#3 Every sheet metal aluminum manifold like the one pictured that I have ever seen has been on a full race application,... mine is a
"full street" application.
I'm just saying that the expense and time I'll have in the adapters will only be "cushioned" by the fact that adapters can be made out of steel that I can weld. The fact that they are relatively small as compared to an entire manifold means that they wont be too heavy, the ease of changing out the center after that is what,......12 bolts?

Ohh yeah,...
#4............ Not every body has the access to a machine shop to cut and mill all of that aluminum like some of us do,. ......................................................Allen.

Like that hasn't been a plan "B" already.

But all that requires is the gas and a blow-thru carburetor.

Well that and the turbo, waste gate, BOV, headers, and peripheral tubing.
