cold air kit ??
computer chip?? what else can i do??

appx. h.p.will i be looking at after those??

what is the most h.p.you can get out of 99 dohc motor, without going into engine. all bolt ons..with out supercharging.?? :spot:

You have good numbers already for what you have.
What cat-back do you have? A good catback would help a bit and fiinish off the exhaust side.

CAI....I would go with WMS (Western Motor Sports) velocity kit w/ 95mm MAF. It's a Pro-M MAF. Other than that, the only thing left would be a chip. I would say you would see about 315RWHP. The most I've seen out of an n/a Cobra with bolt ons and some P&P work on the lower intake is around 333RWHP.

Before the blower I got up to 318RWHP with full exhaust, P&P intake, and all the bolt-ons. With the blower...see numbers in sig.

.....hey sorry about the b/s before.i meant i had no cats mac o/f/pipe back system with 3.5 in. tips. i would have to get the chip cala.to the 95mm maf .right. i want to wait on the cold air kit ,so if a wanted to go with pro charger. that comes with the kit right? will the 95mm maf.work go with the pro char.,,,,,does the chager come with a chip?? answer please and i will get back with you today. thanks .gary

No issues man.

The MAF and the chip are not related. You only need the MAF calibrated for your injectors you are running. Stock, you have 24 lb injectors....if you go with a s/c you will be needing 39-42 lb injectors. So no matter what MAF you go with now, you will need to at least have it recalibrated for the new injectors when you get there. My tuner had me go with the 03 Cobra MAF and injectors...so I sold my CAI and 95mm MAF for about what I paid for it anyway.

So, get a MAF calibrated for your injectors for now. As for the tune, that will just help the car out overall. Two seperate things though.

Most s/c come with some sort of chip...DON'T just use the stock tune they give you with that chip. Every car is different. Different gas, different air density....get a custom dyno tune where they can monitor YOUR car and set up the proper timing and a/f based on your set up.

Stock internals.
No cams.
Not sure if Vortech is better, but that's what I went with. Very happy with it.
My tuner is a Vortech dealer, so he custom ordered the parts. There is a kit you can buy that comes with everything you need.

Vortech will not recommend/sell an S-trim for a Cobra. They have an E-trim they recommend. It only see 6 lbs of boost. Then there's the SC which makes around 8 lbs of boost.

The S-trim is for the GT's. Not because they have a better motor or anything, but because they see less RPM. The more RPM you can get, the more boost. I see 12.8 lbs of boost at 6800 RPM's.

What I ended up with (because the shop ordered it all this way) was the S-trim with the 03 Cobra MAF and injectors (rated at 39 but bench tested at 43 lbs) upgraded fuel pump (can't remember which) and a Boost-A-Pump (a whole other topic). I'm running 94 Octane gas, and have been adding 1 or 2 gallons of race gas to slow the burn process which helps prevent detonation. (This actually may take away some power since it wasn't tuned for the race gas, but it's safer according to my tuner). Also, the spark plugs are gapped at .028 to prevent spark blowout at high RPM's.

,,,thanks you have a very nice set up! okay if i go n/a for now you said i could getabout can remember cant go back to see ? i will not be able to take out any vettes,or camaros, ricers??with that hp correct?? :( :( :( 318/335...hp i will need a charger right? your car has goo mph ,,are you having a promlem with hooking up??stock tires?

Was on the IRS, street tires....spinning 1/2 way down the track. So as you can see with my ET, I wasn't hooking at all :notnice:

Now I have a new tranny, new built solid axle, more gear, and will be on ET Streets this spring. You will see much better times in my signature this spring. Oh, got a line-lock installed too so I can do a proper burnout.
:nice:

You can hit 315-320RWHP with all the bolt-ons. Anything more you need a power adder.

Good luck.

i see nos makes a kit i yhink its a dry kit with some sort of fuel devise noy sure,,but you don't know any thing about nos on a cobra ??your do you i need a little extra something nos is the cheaper way out but would my motor handle it??how much,, i would really like the s/c/ power on demand right?

It can handle nitrous as much as a s/c....just need the right tune and air/fuel set up. Had a friend with a 125 shot on her Cobra....was strong as hell. You still need a chip for the nitrous. They have flip chips...1 setting for motor, one setting for the motor on nitrous. Cheaper than a s/c...but refilling the bottle can get $$$$$$$$$.
