My buddy found a 2003 GT for sale a few hours away from us and he wants to buy it but isn't sure about the price. IM" not sure either but i think it's a steal.
Specs: 2003 True Blue GT Coupe, 2000 miles, premium edition, $17,500 out the door.
Any help would be great he really wants a stang and this seems like a good buy.

Thats an excellent price. My 2003 GT premium(New) was 25k out the door.
My brothers 2002 GT premium(used with 5000 miles on it) was 18k from Carmax. With only 2000 miles on it, your friend is getting a new car 7000 bucks less than a new one. I say Go for it.

ok found out it is NOT premium or delux just base, no extras. the guy was firm with 17500 i asked for that price to be out the door but he said no. so i pretty much ended the deal. Can't you get left over 03's for around 20?

One of our dealers was advertising new 03 GTs (I think deluxe) for $18,900. I'd shop around see what you can find. Heck, 03 Mach1s were going for $22500. Its a good time to buy Stangs right now!

it depends dealers dont' like to go much below invoice. invoice an premium cope has to be around the 21k mark I would assume. I think they get a 6 or 8% kickback even at invoice though so a "really" motivated dealership may go a bit lower. I dont know how many 03's are still floating around I have not looked.

Thats crap...dealers in low population areas can corner the market. I live in a small metroplex of less than 450k people...they wouldn't go lower than 400 over invoice at about 22,200. I went to houston and got the same car for 19,900 brand spanking new.

Jump on it!!! That isn't an everyday price...

My buddy has decided not to take it. car is too far away and the guy started talking about how maybe he can't do th edeal he doesn't know blah blah blah. So we are heading over to our local Ford Dealership tomorrow to see what he can do on a new GT. (keeping fingers crossed)
