need opinions on leaving the bottom isolators out when changing springs

looking for as many opinions and experiences as possible with this. how many of ya had noises from leaving them out. the more details the better. thanks. i did the rears and left them both in but i might leave the bottoms out in the front. the front sits so high plus i have the mach 1000 in the trunk to possibly make it sit a little lower-75 lbs.

what springs are you installing?

i took out both isolators in the front with eibach sportlines. no noises or differences in ride quality. and droped the front of the car 1/3 = 1/2 inch.

my mach 1 chin scrapes everywhere tho....but it scraped even when i had the isolators in... now it just scrapes more. lol

I left ALL isolators out when installing my Bullit kit on my GT. The car sit's "right" in my opinion, not slammed, not 4x4 but like it should from the factory.

When I took the ProKit's off my GT, and put them on my girlfriends 99 auto/V6/Vert......I left ALL isolators out because I wanted it more "street low" instead of performance like I have my car.

I must say, luck went in my favor on both installs and I am very pleased with the results.

You'd think a girl would complain about noise if she heard it in her car, but she doesn't. Said it actually rides a lil' better now. As for me.....I can't hear anything, no iso's work great.

I recently took my eibach prokit out of my car and removed all the isolators. It dropped the front about 3/4" and the rear about 1/2". I don't have any noises that I didn't previously have. I just wrapped the bottom two coils on both ends off all the springs with 2 layers of duct tape.
Here's how it sits:

I just did mine a couple weeks ago. Except, I made new isolators out of 1/8 inch rubber. I was a little concerned with the metal to metal contact in the long run of the car...that's the only reason I did it. It seems to have worked great and I haven't heard a noise...H&R supersports...

You can kinda see the isolator in this picture...it's that orange rubber between the spring and the lower control arm.(springs are not compressed in this picture)

if you do it, just make sure you wrap the bottom and top of the springs with electrical tape. I heard that helps out alot. Thats what I will be doin when I get around to do mine.

There are very few that have heard squeeks, let me remind everyone that all auto manufacturers do not put bottom isolators in their cars. It is ok to remove them both or just one from the top or bottom, I have not seen any issues with removing either of them from a spring setup that is mechanical related, the isolators are meant as a blanket for vibration which is little

i left both my front ones out. now i wish i had some. it looks better and there was NO differance in noise at all. i just drag my intercooler a lot now.

if anyone has some isolators just laying around i would be more than happy to take them off your hands for you!

I guess I will be the first big negative on this one. When I tried my sportlines with no isolators, it was clunk city. Every time I would pull into my apartment complex, it would go BANG real hard. I'd get squeaks here and there, and one time I had a spring hop off the base of the control arm in the back. I made some isolators to help with the sag, and it's been perfect ever since. No noises ever came from the front, and I still have those isolator-free.
