I have the opportunity to pick up an O/R x pipe tomorrow for a great price.........but I need to act fast before someone else snags it! I'd like to hear some of your opinions/experiences you've had with this particular exhaust combo. It's going to be put on my 05 GT which is pretty much stock, with the exception of an intake and tuner. The pipe is a JBA, if that makes any difference.
Some areas of concern for me are......
1.) Exhaust note/volume at start up and idle.......I live in a townhouse complex with very whiny HOA members
2.) The quality of the exhaust note......meaning I HATE the can o' marbles sound that some of the off road pipes give off on the S197. I'm not sure if that has to due with axle back choice though
3.) Ease of install..........I've swapped pipes on my 94 GT tons of times, and can knock it out in less than an hour. I'm guessing the install is similar, right?
4.) Is there any power gain with the swap to be had? I know the factory setup is pretty trick already.........just curious.
I have spent a bit of time on various websites trying to figure this out for myself, but it's hard to tell unless you've heard it in person.
