Need some 8.8" rear end info

hey everyone

does anyone know off hand the diffrence in length of a 94-98 8.8" rear and 99 to 04 rear end? I am converting my V6 to a V8 and I would like to know if I can get away with using a SN95's 8.8, for that matter I also heard the 8.8 used in the lincoln mark VII LSC was wider than the fox mustangs, anyone know if the width would be close to what I need cause those would be cheap to come by

1 1/2" wider on the 99-04 Mustangs , direct bolt on for 96-98, not sure about the LSC set up . For the MarkVIII live axle were used only in 1992 they switched to IRS( Independant rear suspension) starting in 1993, can't confirm if they are the same.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I was under the impression that the rear ends in all SN95's '94-'04 were the same length and it was only the Fox rear ends that were narrower?

as for axles....both V6 and V8 axles were the same 28-spline units. Just re-use your stock ones and call it a day.
