i have a 97 4.6 non-pi...i have a buddy who is trying to sell his 2001 pi intake for $85....now i was originally thinking about going with the fox lake p-51 intake....but i was told by a few people that you can get the same performance out of the pi intake with a few bolt ons (accufab plenum, phenolic spacer, bbk 75mm t.b., and a power pipe with pro-m mafs) and this should be cheaper....what do you guys think. and is the price on the used pi to high?

thats a great price on a used pi, only problem is its all plastic! you'll be better off passing on your friends and looking for one with the aluminum crossover for 20-30 dollars more.

And a p-51 is a little overkill for a stock gt. But if your loaded buy it.

No.....mid-year through 2001 and up they changed to the Aluminum Crossover. Before that, they were all plastic. I dunno...either way, they're so friggin easy to change, I'd just buy a plastic one for 1/4 of the price and not worry about it. .....that is if course if I wasn't already running an Eaton Blower in their place.

you can purchase adapter gaskets (they are thicker to close up the gap between the pi intake and non pi heads...$60...i think i'm gonna go with the pi intake and adapter gaskets and eventually get the p&p stage 2 patriots pi heads.
