I'm new to this site and would like some help on what to do next

First the car is an 88 gt 5spd with a dss 306x pro bullit trick flow track heat
heads/upper and lower intake and the trick flow 1.7 rockers. the cam is of unknown origin but was told the lift was close to 600. sounds alot bigger than my x303.granatelli 75 maf/bbk 70mm tb /19#injecters/stock a9l comp.

the car seams to pull hard up to the factory rev limiter(how do i kill that?) but driving around it lopes real hard and kinda bucks like its cammed to big? anywho did some 1/8th mile runs and it seams ok 8.42/ 81.74 but was leaving real soft as to not spin to much. i would love some advice to make it faster its not a daily driver so no worries. any help would be great

Unless its a loaded GT, (heavy) it should do a bit better in the eighth with that much cam and engine. What were your sixty foots?

You did not say what gear it has, but with a high rpm cam, and it sounds like you have one, you need 4.10 gears or better, some sticky tires and some hard launches. A stick car is fairly easy to just drive harder. like a rental car.

You could go to 1.6 rockers and tame it some to pickup the launch a bit.

I'd get the suspension and tires to hook all the power you have now before you try to get more.

Nitrous Cures All

Along with changing gears, I'd recommend a dry nitrous system. They are relatively cheap for the gain you will get. It will help force more fuel to the combustion chamber especially with the larger injectors. Big cams and heads need the extra fuel at low RPMs to launch real well.

as for the fuel system, go 24 lb injectors. Get a 255lph fuel pump if you havent already. As for the rev limiter, you should get a msd 6al with a built in rev limiter. Its probably a good idea to hook one of those up anyway with a nice h/c/i. If you are keeping your car N/A it wouldnt hurt to get 4:10 gears. I personally would get 3:73's since they are a great all around gear. I hope that helps you out.
