I have been noticing some unwanted behavior in my brakes. I have new vgx pads from summit, I checked the rotors with a micrometer they were in good shape. My problem is they stop pretty good the first couple of times from 60-70mph bringing it down to 35-40mph.

Then every stop after that I can feel kind of a growling in the brake pedal and the pedal feels like stepping in a bowl of banana's, I have been told stang brakes are prone to bad fade but I think this is ridiculous for cobra brakes. any and all input is greatly appreciated.

Pad compounds are a lot like shoes....personal preferences and needs. Some folks can't get enough heat into the pads, some folks could roast a compound of sintered iron. I'm sure the folks at Summit were trying their best.

My other question would be why would summitt reccomend these pads its not like they were cheap to purchase.

Um.... that's one of those statements that makes you think. :rlaugh:

To be more serious.... I feel the same way about my brakes.... I've heard that it could be the brake hoses are warming up and expanding and that I should upgrade to Stainless Steel brake lines.
