Alright, I bought an almost new Explorer motor to start as a base to build a mild performance engine. The engine is being dropped into a 1968 mustang. This is the biggest project I've taken on for the car and needed some advice. First, I bought a set of Aluminum GT-40 heads to swap on the engine. I know they aren't the best in terms of performance, but I only paid $650 and I need to lighten the front end to improve handling. What would you recommend for head gaskets for aluminum heads? What head bolts do you suggest? What rocker arm studs should I use? I was going to use a ford alphabet cam unless someone can recommend a different one? Thanks for your input.

I would suggest using ARP headbolts or studs for the heads as well as for the rocker arms. Also, I would suggest getting a custom grind cam depending on your power goals and eventual mods rather than using a FRPP cam.
