First off all I'd like to say hey since am a newbie. But I also have a few qusestions for you guys. Right now I do not own a mustang but I'm looking for one, I 've actually found a 94 GT with 133,000 and a 5sd for around $4000. But anyways here are the questions, first off people keep telling me that this years 94-95 handle like crap. I live in the mountians and have owned a few import cars so I really love the corners, so is there anything I can do to make the car handle better? Second people keep telling me to go buy a 4.6 because they have more power, this my be true but aren't the 5.0 way tougher engines? I'm not really looking for a 600hp monster i just want a decently fast DD. Well thats all my questions for now.

BTW What do you think of the price on that 94 stang I'm lookin at?
Will

thats a great price... and just put a set of springs and shocks on your stang and it will be fine the sn-95 bodys handle curves nicely... also go with the 5.0 its OBD less computer crap then the 4.6's and the 5.0's are fairly easy to mod and learn how to work on.... i went through the same debate and landed up with a 5.0 because the price was right.... i got my stang with 199k detailed every month 2 owner all stock for $3900

where to start.

4k is not bad if there is no rust, and its in decent shape.

as for the suspension, it is a mustang so stock handling is a flat-out joke. it will take about $3-4k to make handling on par with an M3. if you buy the car and have some cash to put into suspension make a thread and we will try and get you the best bang for the buck.

the 5.0 is no where near way tougher than a 4.6 when it comes to big power levels, but since that is not what you are after then it will be just fine.

4k for the car and about 10k in mods you will have a car that is on par with a C4 corvette(that you can buy for $14k) in every performance category---do you see where i am going with this....

Unless you go 99 or newer, the 5.0 is more powerful and far cheaper to modify than the 4.6. Slap some Eibach Sportlines or H&R SS springs on her with good wheels and tires and you will be very happy with the handling..

i got mine no rust 173,000 for 3300...the price is right...i would never put that much money in my suspension i think it handles just fine lol i think lowering springs would do justice...if your learning towards a 4.6... i wouldn't buy one older then a 99 so if you like our bodystyles get the 5.0 unless you want to be under the hood doing mods...since you already found a 5.0 and its a reasonable price i would say get it.

WOW, you guys have helped alot. I'm going to look at the car either Wed. or Thur. so I guess I'll make a decision then but I've always wanted a stang. One more quick question, will a stock 5.0 out run a WRX??? The reason I ask is because I'm on another forum for car enthusiast in NC and alot of the WRX guys talk crap about every car under the sun, I figured if I could i'd give them a little taste of some american muscle.

That kind of sucks.O Well Well this summer after I sell my gixxer I'm going to buy some performance stuff like headers, custom exhaust, shifter, etc. Is it true that mustangs have like 4-6 cats on them? I was hoping to do exhaust as soon as i got the car.

BTW Thanks for all the welcome's

Its had 3 owners, two older men, and now an older women. So I assume its bone freakin stock. It's red(not sure of factory name) and has a black leather interior with power everything. Should be a step up from my modified 90 Mitsubishi Eclipse, which I just sold to a buddy.

BTW I live in NC and know some people who will give me a inspection sticker on anything, even a full on drag car

Welcome again (like everyone else said).

Congrats on the purchase also!

Do some searches on popular mods to the cars, but it seems like everyone drops the cars first, throws a shifter, a cold air kit and maybe heads/cam/intake on the beast plus, of course, the ubiquitous exhaust work. If it's a GT (didn't read posts carefully) I think those mods would help the most. Beyond that, the sky is the limit. The other really popular upgrade is to different gears, 3.73 seem most popular, but depending on how crazy you are willing to go with the car, 4.10 may be an option (if you never drive on the highway).
If you don't have emissions requirements in the state, dump ALL the emissions stuff (air pump, quad-cats) and then you may have a fun car that sounds killer.
There are loads of upgrades for the cars, if you crack a Summit catalog they have 25 pages of upgrades, some smarter than others.
What year is the gixxer? I am always looking for SRAD parts if it's an older one...

Enjoy, good luck!

Well her she is for $3800, turns out all the money is going to a charity for children in south africa. But ya she has performance mufflers and not cats Runs good, shifts great.

I have some questions though, my check engine lights on is that because of the smog sensors?? And my coolant temp gauge isn't working is there anything i can check to maybe solve this problem. It doesn't over heat I just want to get that fixed.
