Hi guys,
New to the board here. I just want some opinions from others as to whether or not this is a good deal or not for my 07' V6 .
a full GT take-off exhaust system with an H-pipe for bout $850, this is including labor.
it seems kind of pricey to me but not sure.

i wouldn't do it. you can get a full aftermarket exhuast system for the same price.. check out Jegs.com for muffler prices and then go to your local performance or muffler shop and ask them how much a custom exaust system - the cost of the mufflers. i bought my flowmasters through jegs and had a custom H pipe made and spend around 850 with labor.

full gt take off exhaust

If you aren't in a huge hurry, don't do it. I have seen people almost giving away their GT exhaust because they get tired of looking at it sitting in the garage.

Also.... In another post, i mentioned I paid 89 for my Gt take off mufflers with shipping on ebay. I then had a local Austin muffler shop install the driver's side pipe and muffler and a custom X-pipe for 220.

If you look online at some of the Ford OEM parts houses, you can get a drivers side GT mid pipe for about 80 plus shipping. The install on that is easy for a muffler shop. I don't know what an Hpipe costs, but Ford Racing sells an Xpipe for about 150. They just cut your ypipe out and weld in the H or X pipe weld in the new driver's side pipe and your existing stock rt side pipe, the mufflers will bolt on.

I originally very carefully cut the rear bumper for the driver's side hole for the tail pipe. I used some aircraft tin snips and a razor blade... i have since gotten hit in the rear end, and needed a new bumper cover, so I had them install a GT takeoff cover..looks sweet/

BTW- with my dual gt takeoff muffs, stock air box with K&N drop in filter (and a 3x3 hole punched in the side of stock box) I ran a 190 rwhp and 212 rwtq on a dynojet with 87 octanes gas and no tune. Most stock v6s get about 178rwhp for reference.

I have since put on a C&L intake with a tune. The 87 octane tuen was good, but I really like the 93 octane tune.

Have fun and Just keep looking the parts are out there.

Steve
