I have what I'm told is a TFS StageII cam with Cobra 1.6 roller rockers on stock heads. I believe it has stock valve springs cause I'm gettin valve float pretty bad at 5,500 rpm. What would be a good upgrade spring for this and what locks and retainors am I gonna need?
Thanks

the best answer to this question is phone trick flow's tech line and get there recomended spring set for that cam. it beats all us guys and gals guessing. unless there are compitent cam guru's here which i know there are a few. thats what i always do. go to the source to get the best info.

Like I said though I'm not positive it's a stage II cam and neither was the last owner. I thought about getting the TFS valve spring upgrade kit from Summit.

that link is for a flat tappet hydraulic cam it says. i have heard that hydraulic roller and hydraulic flat tappet use the same springs but you may want to check that out before you buy.

Well if you have stock heads you need to pick a spring that will work with them, and the valves you have. You need to know the diameter of the springs, the installed height of the spring and it would be great to know what cam it is. You can find max lift at the retainer with a mic this will get you in the ballpark.

Stock Cobra rockers are 1.72

A Stage II cam with those rockers is not a good combo for your motor....
