Need Suspension Help

About four years ago I had my 96 GT lowered with ford racing 2" springs. It looks fantastic but rides like a horse and buggy. It is just waaaaay to stiff I feel absolutely everything in the road almost as if there are no springs on it at all. Now my question is this do I need new springs/shocks are they worn out? If not then what can you recommend that will keep it lowered about 1.5-2" that will give me the most comfortable ride? Thanks.

Pretty sure it's your shocks/struts. There's alot of them on the market, just depends on what your needs are (drag racing, auto-x, etc.) I have Bilsteins on mine and love them....... :nice:

If you didn't put shocks & struts on when you lowered your car you probably wore out your stock shocks. Your stock shocks were not designed to work with a 2" drop. Try a set of shocks that are made for the springs you are using.

I agree that you MAY only a problem with blown shocks/ struts. But how was the ride right after the spring install?? Was it fine then, and now has degraded? If "no", then likely you have some brutal springs that no shocks/ struts will lighten up. If that is the case, you may want to consider a more compliant progressive-type lowering spring (e.g. Eibach Pro Kit). Just food for thought...
Good luck :nice:

So eibach pro is the way to go?
Depends on what you want. If you want a lower ride-height but want to maximize drivability, then you want a progressive-rate spring. Eibach Pro Kit is a very good one that is well liked for sure, but I believe Steeda and H&R also sell some really good ones that are also popular here.
