need to improve times

first time at track i ran:
60' - 2.4
1/8 - 10.09
MPH - 72.5
1/4 - 15.51
MPH - 90.5

i have 2 weeks left till i can get back to the track. (good guys and nights of thunder) i ran all this with the mods listed below minus the pro 5.0. i would like to know if i should be trapping a higher mph. keep in mind that i still havent installed the 3.73's, i am running 2.73's.

Well your 60' can be improved a little for a big gain with better driving, with the mods below i ran a 9.7@74mph with my stock 2.73 gears, had a 2.2 60' on street tires. so you should be runnin faster than me.

Agree. You should probably be beating my times, because I am still running the factory (choker) intake.

Are you waiting for the green light to launch? One thing that you can do to shave down your 60' time by a couple of 10th's is to launch on the third yellow. The clock actually starts ticking on third yellow. You may already know this though. Sorry in advance if you did.

Even though our 60's are only 0.1 off, it clearly makes a difference if you follow that down the track.

My best R/T off the 3rd yellow - .051 Try if, if you're not doing it already.

If I launch on Green - R/T's around .241 or so.

:bs: time doesnt start till you move out of the beams, r/t doesnt matter at tnt night, but it is a good way to cut good lights, thats how i do it, and bring down the 60', with gears and street tires i cut a 2.0 with practice, just practice different things

Opps, my bad. Your right about that, but it's a good idea to be consistent on your launch. Getting a good R/T is not a bad thing, but overall it probably will not help your E/T. Your 60' is probably going to have one of the biggest impacts. That is where I am still struggling because of my stock gears and tires.
am I smoking crack if I said high 13's seems a little too fast for his car w/ stock heads and cam (or am I missing something in his sig)?
not sure how much less an lx fox hatch would weigh than the sn95's but a friend of mine is going about the same times as me in the 1/8th with stock gears, basically all the same other mods, his car is a freak hah, it pulls harder than mine, i dont get it :nonono:

to get better time kill your front and rear sway bars thats only if you mostly race and I heard a guy taking off the quad shocks and getting better times also. if you have aftermarket 17s ford racing or what ever look for a set of MT ET Street Radials
