so i have the xenon windows scoops which are painted, and my car is supposed to go into the body shop on mon. now i am hearing people have problems with them coming off. is this true? i also like the CDC smooth window scoops. are the xenon ones really poor quality? should i order up the CDC ones and have them slapped on instead? help me out i gotta order the cdc ones ASAP if i am gonna get them put on monday!

if they come off, it is because they did not prep the part well enough. they are held on with 2X tape, right? you need to have an extremely clean surface, and use adhesion promoter on the parts to be sure the tape will stick. also important that the glass is very clean. (i assume the parts attach to the glass and not the paint.)

Official,

I have had absolutely no problems with these coming off. But I had mine painted and installed at a body shop, I didn't try to do this myself.

The parts came in with the 3m double sided sticky tape which has been holding just fine(wind, rain, etc.)

By the way, I have since added the Xenon hood scoop and it hasn't had any issues either.

Good luck, if you would like, I can email you my pics. For some reason my pics are all to big to post on here and I have no way of resizing them.

Before the scoops are installed, in addition to having the painted surface clean, it is extremely important to lay the scoops in the sunlight or near a heater until they are much more flexible. Once they are soft and flexible, immediately install them while continuously pushing around the perimeter of the scoop to ensure proper shape of the contour of the car is matched. You must continue to push around the edges until the scoop is completely cooled down. This should be done out of the sun. If you don't do this, I'm sure you'll be disappointed a week later.
