I have a 93 lx coupe, 5 spd., and a CAI. The rest of the car has 3.73's, alum DS, off road h-pipe and flows. The engine is as it came from the factory.
My problem is that it runs out of steam early, Im guessing due to the rear gears. I could put in 3.55's for a better rev range, but Id rather add parts for the money. What parts would give me more torque? Thanx

start with a cam swap, one with a higher peak rpm ceiling. my 86 gt was a one year only type engine, and it was done making power just over 4000 rpm. you have better heads and pistons than my old engine had to start with, so id start with just a cam swap. if thats not enough, add some worked heads and a better intake

it now has an explorer 5.0 engine with a TFS stage one cam, comp springs, and on the heads i did nothing more than a bowl blend/valve job/.030 cut. its like a different car, even though its a stock engine other than the cam.

start with a cam. later add explorer heads and intake. best bang for the buck.
