I bought a $100 throttle cable and am I missing something or they don't come with the wire part that goes to the gas pedal? It seems it only has the part of the cable that goes to the throttle body...What am I missing guys? Thanks in advance..

Should of done what I did! Go to a junjkyard and rip one of a thunderbird. You cann buy the tip at any parts store or use wire crimps like i did

Thanks guys...Hey, can't I somehow use my existing one? How does it fit in? Can I pull the old end out and use it on the new cable?

poke, we don't care about your silly throttle cable problem, we want to know whats going on with your motor. did you get it back yet or not?

HAHAHA!!! Yes, it is driving me nuts. I am STILL waiting. The builder is a real good guy, he just got stalled by his suppliers. It will be done by Wed of this week. :)

Is the new cable just raw on the gas pedal end? You could add a ferrule to it if you have to. I hate to recommend stuff like this because if that ferrule comes off while you're making a left turn (I know you're real safety-conscious PG), that could be real fugly. I have done this before (sheared a motorcycle clutch cable ferrule, walked to a VW shop, got a Bug's throttle cable-end and retrofitted it on the side of the road) but it isnt the best way to go. I replaced the cable when I got home.

Good luck.

It's weird. The cable came with the wire that goes into the engine comartment but a hole in the end of the shroud that goes 2ward the gas pedal. I can see movement when I push and pull the cable but dunno if I use my old connection to go to the gas pedal par tor not.
