Yes its true, Nitto 275/40 RII's will fit on a 17x8 rim, and they look rather sweet I realize the pics aeren't great, but they are OK.
Now I just need to get my car running well and smoke the s*** out of these bad boys.

*I spent a little while debating about whether the 275/40's would fit on my 17x8's, but I trusted everyone who said they would, and I am very glad that I did. They fit great and actually look a lot better than my old 245/45's.*

Those Nitto's look great. How do they hook?

My car is having some severe lean problems, so I can't take it over about 4500-5K right now, so I can't answer that yet. However on the twisty stuff (Which is what I bought them for anyway - SCCA) they are freakin awesome. I haven't been able or brave enough to brake them loose on a corner yet, they hold very well.

I had a set on my Bullitt a couple of years ago. At the road course they were great. They are worlds better than my Michelin Pilots Sports (and every other street tire I've used). At the drag strip they left something to be desired. I am able to get better 60ft times now with a narrower tire on an 18" rim than with the RIIs.

I was able to get about 5K miles on them before they needed to be added to a landfill.
