this something I should have looked at, or do you think it may subside after a few hundred miles, they were put in by a very reliavle garage and I know he would fix it or try, if I made it known to him. Any ideas?????

they aren't lined up correctly, if they are whinning. end of story, & it wont get better. it's either the pinion depth, or the back lash that isn't done prperly. you can tell by if it's whinning when you are on the gas, or when you let off. but if it's the gears, they will be whinning all the time, you just may not hear it. also, it could possibly be the tranny. but if the mechanic will fix it, take it back immediately or else you will ruin the gears :nice:

I've had four 5 liters, all of which had gears 3.55's right on up to 4.11's. None of them whined and they shouldn't. My guess...not enough shims and the gears are misaligned, sorry to say it bro but it might be worth getting checked out... or you could end up locking up your rear in the middle of a 4 lane highway like a guy i work with did LOLOL! :rlaugh:
