I know they are still new and this may or may not have been done yet, but does anyone know if and how much work it would take to put the 2011 5.0 engines into a Fox?

Ozz

I think I have a problem here.

I have no info, but Kurgan Motorsports has done it already. Maybe you could talk to them; they frequent various Mustang boards and seem to be helpful enough to approach.

It's in this:

My title says 3200 not sure how accurate that is though, I wonder how much torque that thing produces

390 ft-lbs is the stock 2011 GT rating. Probably more out of a tuned crate engine.

On how much Fox-bodies weigh, I'm going off of memory, but a non A/C 87 coupe could be as light as 3080 lbs. Hatches added 70-80 lbs, and verts were something like 100 lbs heavier than that. Fully loaded verts were somewhat fat but certainly still less than 3400 lbs.

You can drop an easy 100lbs simply by draining the gas to 1/8 of a tank, and pulling out the spare tire.

I have no idea what the weight difference between the ol' 5.0 and the new one is, though. I can't imagine that the new one is lighter even despite the fact that it's made of aluminum.

Did they use the AOD transmission or did they find a way to get the '11 tranny in there too?

My friends '87 coupe 5L without driver tipped in at 2860 lbs. Full interior car. No AC, but it did have power steering.
