u basically getting a t/b and fuel rails for $650 which isnt that bad is it worth it

or should i go with a edle or trickflow

i have a 94 with a s-trim stock heads (afr 165 coming soon ) stock cam

I spoke with a guy at Jegs and he said that with a Cobra R hood on our cars, the SSI intake should fit. Once I get a hold of one I'll take some measurements.

BBK keeps moving the ship date back, as of now I heard it's December 23rd.

Performance wise I've heard it's a really good setup. 18-35hp gains on a Cobra -- But if I remember correctly they put a GT intake on a Cobra motor and ran the tests...Intake runners are supposedly extremely good too. I think I'm just going to send my stock Cobra intake to Tom Moss and have him work his magic.

MM&FF did a test on the SSI, Cobra, GT, Eddy, TFS intakes and the SSI performed better than the GT, but worse than the rest if I remember right. I'll have to try and find the article in the mag. It was only a few months ago.

1105 is right on the money, the bbk didnt perform much better than an unported gt-40 in that article.if got a cobra intake like you said just get it ported and save 650.or spend the loot on one of the other ones.

Didn't that article also say that on a Supercharged car, there was no way the BBK would out do the Holley SystemMax, which is supposed to be the best "Stock-type" manifold for Supercharged cars?

Now, personally, I think it's a gimmick manifold. It's great that BBK is investing money in 5.0 parts still (It has been 10 years since they stopped building Mustangs with them), but I don't see why you would buy the BBK over one of the already proven manifolds on the market. Especially for our cars since it won't clear the stock hood, have to convert to Fox TB, and our cars don't need the rail upto more horspower than the stock block will take. (650hp, according to some things I've read.)

Again, that's just my opinion....

Now, if you want it just because it looks different, go for it.....

well i have a cobra "rr" hood and i heard they are making the elbow for it in either case i could always switch to a fox style t/b

I actually remember that when they announced this manifold in the mags, they said a 94-95 specific manifold was coming. That was a couple years ago, though. I don't thnk the elbow is the problem on these manifolds and stock 94-95 hoods. Probably the passenger side front of the upper manifold, just behind where the alternator would be, hits the hood there.

It was tested on a 302 and made almost indentical average power to a stock GT40. Then it was tested on a 347 and it made the same power as a stock GT40. Long story short - buy it if you like the way it looks and yoiu want to spend more $ on a new intake.

thanks for all the opinion i really never wanted it for the look i just thought it was going to be a good manifold

so u say the holly is the best intake for a S/C car ?

SystemMax Eddy or TFS

Yep, I believe "confused" was the work the author of the articule used to describe the SSI intake on a N\A 302. It seems most people are just interested in the looks of the intake.

I would avoid it.
Someone recently posted pic`s of one leaking coolant through the casting and complaining of the fuel injector mounting holes being drilled in a less than optimal position/angle.

Sounds like a POS!!!
