That is fine and dandy, however there are street cars pushing over 7000 RPMS on the stock crank, with no issues. KenB who had the fastest N/A 2V used the stock crank in his car and it went past 7500 RPM without issue.

There is quite a few builder's who have pushed the limits of the 2V crank and have not broke it. Just because 1 builder says it is bad doesn't mean it is. Tim is not always right and this is one of those cases.
While the cranks are rather tough, the biggest worry about over reving the 4.6 is PTV contact if you still have the stock heads/springs. Some people have gotten away with it, others haven't.

You are close, the biggest thing I have heard with over revving the 4.6 is valve float, which causes PTV which causes bent rods which causes failed cranks. When that happens, it doesn't matter which crank you have. Some get away with it, others don't.

When the TBird project is done and paid for, I will start one for the 3V and it will include forged internals.

I just haven't decided which route to go with the red Pony.

Actually I'm closer than close, cause that's what I just said :D I haven't had too many whacked 4.6's come into the shop b/c of over reving, but the 3 that I have had were all from PTV from valve float.

Well you didn't mention valve float initially which causes the PTV. :p If the valves don't stay open at the higher RPM's, you don't get the PTV. That is why I said you were close.

Thank you for the comment on the Stang.

Sorry my bad, sometimes I just assume everyone knows what I'm talking about. :(

Wow that's a good time good job! I wish I could shift a stick good enough to run a manual if I didn't care about the transmission I would probably be able to shift better or is it faster? better is granny shifting I guess heheheheh anyways good stuff its good to see more and more girls showing up at the races it makes for a better weekend when the GF can run too instead of sitting around watching next year she will run my truck! then I gotta step it up or I'm going to get my arse kicked
