Tonight was the last regular test and tune of this year so unless I drive to another track this weekend I'm done for 2003. I made a handful of passes and for a while I had thought that Starkie put some kind of jinx on me because I ran three 12.20s (12.205, 12.203, 12.200) and I didn't think I could break that pattern.
However I sat out a round and let the motor cool down (above passes were made at 185*) and got a good pass in which netted me a new best of 12.15 @ 110.66 and 7.69 @ 85.82 with a 1.591 60 foot time. All night long the car was cutting 1.59-1.60s, which for Moroso that is pretty good. I had concerns that my 111 MPH trap speed was a fluke the week before but tonight the car consistently went mid 110 MPH going into a slight head wind.
It goes without saying that I'm very happy with the results of the cams and how the car is running now. With no changes the car will run 12.4s or faster at just about any track next year and I'm not far from an 11 second pass. I have a track rental at Bradenton in early January so I get a few weeks off to find some extra weight to drop and pick up a few more HP to give it a shot.
