I currently have an old Holley 650cfm double pumper with mechanical secondaries. I recently did a rebuild but noticed my base plate and throttle body is warped pretty badly. I will try to even it out by sanding on a glass plate but I do need a new carb.
My current setup is as follows:
- flat tappet .500/.500 lift , 224/224 durr Compcam
- Performance products Crosswind intake (dual plain)
- E7 heads (removed thermacular bumps, mild port job)
- KB flat top pistons
- 9.6:1 compression ratio
However this winter, the engine will see the following upgrades:
- Roller cam X303 or something simular (.542/.542, 224/224 durr)
- Aluminum heads, not sure what yet... ARF185's or whatever
- Performance products Hurricane intake (single plain)
So I was thinking a small 570cfm street avanger but I'm not sure if this carb will be good for an engine that will see 5500~6000rpm redline, maybe a 670cfm would be better for the new setup?
But I think I'm leaning towards a speed demon carb, I like the smoothness of it. So with that I was going to go with a 575cfm of this: http://www.barrygrant.com/demon/default.aspx?page=10
I need to buy one next week because my current carb is hardly working and whistles like a SOB!
