This is for a 302, nothing super duper fantastic.. This is a cheapo 5.0L from a truck which pretty much anything will be better than stock. I'm pretty much sure this will be a stronger than stock 5.0L HO once done though. ;)

My choices are:

1) Speed Pro flat top cast pistons with 4 valve reliefs

2) Speed Pro flat top Hypereutectic pistons with 4 valve reliefs

3) Keith black flat top hypereutectic with 2 valve reliefs

4) Sealed power dome Forged aluminum

NOTE: I'm leaning towards #4 and #3, chances are this engine won't see any forced air.

These pistons will be on top of forged Eagle SIR I-beam rods, stock crank, all ARP bolts, all new OE spec bearings.

Cam will either be a Lunati or Compcams .512 lift and 230 durr @ 0.50" but for a little more lift I plan on some 1.6 roller rocker arms. I'm not sure what heads to get yet either some new GT40's or Edelbrock RPM... I might just say f-it and port my E7's (currently only the thermacular (wtf???) bumps are removed). My intake is an RPM airgap sitting on that is a 650cfm mechanical double pumper carb (fuel pushed by Holley red pump).

I'm hoping for more than 300HP with this combo. I can get up to 12:1 compression with the forged pistons but most likely I'll be around 10.6:1 to 11.4:1 with my choice of heads and down to 9.somthing:1 with the stock heads I guess??? Any tips or corrections are welcome because I'm new to this sort of thing.
