new clutch break in and emmitions question

Having the rear main seal done, so i ordered a king cobra clutch since the trans was out. Can i get on her right away or is their a break in time required?? Also, i passed NJ inspection easily. i thought it was going to be allot harder to get through. My question is, can i get a new cam installed for more power and better sound and not have issues when it comes to passing, and which one do you guys think i should get. i like the e cam, but i would like something that has a better power band for more power down low, but still screams up top. here are my scores:
NOx-standared 1378 Reading- 303
HC- standard-180 Reading-13
CO% Standard 1.01 Reading-0.00
Do these scores look like ones i should have scored... maybe their machines just sucked... Is it because my car was made a SD that the NOx's are allowed to be high... I thought NJ was soposed to be hard to pass... I did put a stock h pipe on before i went. Ok, thanks for reading, tom

some will say break it in, others will say romp on it. i say break it in for about 500 miles of stop and go driving. cant help on the emissions.

As long as your cats are in decent working order and you have emissions parts such as the smog pump you will have no problem. Even with the more agressive of cams.

i would break the clutch in for about 500 stop and go miles to let everything mesh together. i know guys who didnt want to break theirs in and they are looking for new clutches after 800 miles...

ok, i have to drive back to virginia at the end of the week so that should be a good break in trip. This will be my first new clutch put in since i have owned the car, witt i feel any performance gains from it or not... im not to sure if the last one was a stock one or what...

Unless your old clutch was slipping at all you won't feel any difference in performance. I loved the King Cobra clutch when I had it... Good choice...

I would definately break-in a new clutch. Your risking damage to your clutch and wallet in the future if you do not. There is a reason the clutch manufacturer's suggest breaking in the clutch. You want everything to "mesh" together nicely so do just some mixed driving to break it in. Don't put any kind of wide open throttle power to it to be safe...

clutch break in periods are there so spec doesn't have to warrenty thier product.
there are plenty of track only cars throwing in a clutch and heading to the staging lines to launch on slicks.
I had less then 10 street miles on my Hayes before I was dumping the clutch at 6000rpm on slicks, and have no issues.
Break in will not hurt it any.
If you are on radials, and on the street, that is break in... get after it if you please.

Although that is true...that isn't the only reason (just for warranty)...everything needs to seat and go thru a couple heat cycles...

Your also not on a borderline power for the power you make and the clutch you run...clutch break-in could be crucial in that case...not yours...

I don't agree with that...I'd rather be safe than sorry for one...

im going to break her in, i dont have the money to throw around for another clutch and labor costs. plus the ford racing box it came in said performance parts have NO warrenty...
