New Convert To V8 And Mustangs

Hello all my name is Kirk. I'm from Bloomington Illinois and just purchased a 2012 gt premium. I've owned 4 cylinder turbo cars for the last 12 years and finally decided on something different. I'm a huge Subaru fan and have owned 3 including a 400hp low 11 second 05 STI. I have alot of friends who have owned mustangs for years and I finally decided to hop on the V8 train. Been closet wanting one for years. I'm anxious to learn as much as possible and to eventually start tastefully modifying as funds allow.

Welcome! I had the same car for a few years and loved it. It must be a significant difference for you in regards to the power curve and traction. I personally think both types of cars are fun though. I'm considering getting a turbo 4 as a daily driver whenever one of our current ones quits.

Oh yeah it is a different animal. When I had the STI if I had good tires I mostly had traction all the time and well in the winter nothing could stop it. If I lost control I knew exactly what to do. The STI had a big enough turbo to where it lived in the higher rpms but the 2 regular wrxs I had definitely fell off on the top end. I also had a GTI as my first turbo car before the subarus and it was fun also. I will look forward to eventually spending alot less money to gain power lol. Had 12k into the STI
