Why not get the V-6 CTS model that will get better gas mileage and won't have those big tires? It might even be a softer comfortable ride since it won't have all of those sport suspension options.

No one is going to suggest the '06 up Civic?
GF and I got an '06 Si Coupe for her DD and love it. Been great for reliability and quicker than she needs. It does suffer a "notchy" 3rd when cold but hasn't gotten any worse, I believe they have an improved synchro on '09 up 6 spd cars.
I'd buy the car again hands down.
Also had an '07 Ford Fusion AWD as a company vehicle for a couple of months and loved it. Thought the car was one of the best sedans Ford has made in a long time. It was solid, quick and impressive on gas for a V6.

Who cares if gas goes to $6/gallon...i would still take a V over a V6 caddy anyday.

We drive Mustangs.....any car would have a softer ride that any of us would gladly enjoy
Haha, no kidding. If you're looking for a soft ride with a small motor and downgraded suspension components I think you're in the wrong place.

I'll be very interested to see what the new CTS-V will go for in a few years. Now that its available with an automatic that thing will make a killer DD. The new regular CTS is pretty damn sweet too, and imo is actually better looking than the '09 V.
Sure the non V will have:
Softer suspension
Weaker brakes
Less power (250+ HP less)
Better fuel economy
No Recaro option seats
It would make a fine DD but a rather expensive one with little fun factor.
At least for a daily driver the V-6 will get better mileage and a softer ride over those bumpy roads.
