Here's a few pics of my new 6 guage instrument bezel.
I think it came out pretty well

Sure is weird having an extra gauge though...

Looks nice 2bav8! I like the woodgrain look....that's why I bought a woodgrain bezel, but I've only got 5 gauges...

6 gauges

The instrument bezel is cast aluminum.
I did use woodgrain for a glove box door to cover the instrument bezel though.
Sure matches nice, lol

The bezel set me back $185, $300 for the electric speedo, speed sensor and tach, 4 smaller gauges were around $200.

It does look very nice, but I think for the money you have tied up in it, I would have just gone with a JME billet for a couple hundred dollars more.

The bezel was $185 vs $425 for the JME
Plus, this bezel looks more like the factory bezel IMO than JME because it has the eyebrows up top. Sure did take more effort though, I will definitely admit that. But not $200+ worth IMO.

JME's website said starting at $850, that's what I was comparing to your total of approx. $685. Less than $200 delta, unless you get hammered on shipping charges with JME.

You can, however, say you did it yourself.

JME's $850 quote is with cheaper gauges. The electric speedo just for example is over $100 more than an mechanical one and that's not even including the $50 speed sensor that's necessary. So that $850 quote jumps to over $1000 with just one gauge!

Just jumping in here as one who looked hard at buying a JME unit and chose to make my own...

I saved less than $200 from what they show NOT counting the upgraded gauges I opted for. If you want to buy high-end gauges for your car, be aware that Autometer gauges are pricey. My electonic speedo was almost $400 alone

My bezel cost me far less than $100.00 as I was able to use a repro of the stock unit. But I have the joy and pride to have rolled my own. Here's the writeup (sorry if you've seen this a hundred times):

Unfortunately for me it's a lot easier to add aftermarket gauges to a '67-'68 factory bezel than a '66, especially if you want a tach. Even harder for a guy with a '65 equiped with idiot lights and all related wiring behind the dash.

JME's website lists that package comes with Autometer Ultralights. Don't think I'd have a problem with them. Mustang Depot's website says the Autometer Ultralight gauge package for the JME bezel is electric and includes the sender. I figured since they are both linking to the exact same picture that both would be the same.

What's the advantage of an electric speedo over a mechanical one, anyway? Adjustability for different tire combinations?

That's why I'm replacing my idiot light panel with the "GT"-style, and the wiring isn't going to be a problem either, since my under dash harness is fubar anyway (the fuse block is crumbling into drust) I'm going to get a brand new harness!

Yes, plus it can be exact, unlike gears where you just find the closest combination and run it.
