Hey guys, I'm planning a new motor set up for my car. I'm planning on only getting a new shortblock and reusing my existing heads/intake and all other accessories.

My goals are 600-700 hp on 93 octane, totally streetable, on 93 pump gas.

Right now I'm leaning towards a ford strokers dart based 347 stroker short block, with a mild custom cam (again looking to be streetable), and either a procharger, vortech, or kenne bell supercharger.

Any and all opinions welcome, but please keep in mind I'm trying to do this as simply as possible (i/e reusing parts, not need custom k-members, etc...)

I'm not in any rush.. but plan on doing this during 2011.. currently doing my cobra brake swap too!

nice. my buddy made 650 to the wheels using a 347 and XE274HR comp cam and a D1Sc procharger. pretty mild set-up and tune. so it should be easily obtainable.

let me know if ya part with B41 cam.

Yeah I figured my goals should be pretty easy to obtain.. I'm really looking for the set up to be streetable and fun to drive... As my car see's the track maybe 1-2 x per year and is on the street the rest of the time. I'm leaning towards the procharger or kb.... And either the boss block or dart block.. Whichever costs me less....
Anyway.. Been so busy the last few months I haven't really been on... How's u been?
I'll let u know about the cam too

good runnin' 10.7x's at the track with my dinky 331 / paxton 1220, going for the last time this season on Sunday.

I thought you were contemplating a small blower, wanna go all out I guess?

A dart block with a F1R would be nasty!!!

Yeah I bought a used blower then ended up reselling it. I knew that it wouldn't keep me happy for long so I decided to hold off. I am doing the cobra brake swap and restoring the interior, doors, and other misc. things currently. I just scored original ford 5 lug R's with good tires for 150 from a friend this week. I'm psyched to get the brakes done finally.

Ohh and I saw your recent thread.. Your car is sick... Great times at the track. Only question is how long that stock block will take the abuse!!!!!

you'll never make 600-700hp with a kenne bell so you might as well throw that idea out

You don't think a kenne bell on a built 347 with supporting mods and tune can make 600 hp?

Nope, just dont flow like that, i did all the research i could cause i REALLY wanted a PD blower, just wont flow enough to really give the 347 the boost it needs. Plus they are REALLY inefficient.

Unless they make that mammoth Kenne Bell 3.6 liquid cooled for the 5.0. somethin like 1124hp @ 25psi on GT500.

How about a turbo?

Mr. Bell has expressed many times they wont be developing anything new for the pushrod plant.

I love turbo's but I think I'd rather just slap a supercharger on and call it a day.

I should have said in my original post that I'm favoring a procharger system over the others anyway.

dont waste your time with a small motor, if your doing a dar block, build a 408, f-1r, make your power goals on like 10psi, the motor wont even be working hard

he wouldnt even need an f1r, just go high spinning 427 and make 700hp all motor

i disagree, i think 600 would be easy but 700's gonna be tough with a windsor and stay streetable, and you start getting into a motor that size and making it rev and you are talking serious money in valvetrain and cylinder heads

Didnt say it wouldnt need all that, mechanical cam train, 225's, etc etc. I would drive that on the street

I like the idea of a 408+ if you go with smaller mains so you can spin it. No reason not to since you are discussing an aftermarket block. Go ahead and use those heads. Consider head work. Maybe a converted victor intake. A good supercharger, the extra cubes, and a custom cam and you'll get to 700 easy. As said, can get there NA. With power adder should be easy.
