I recently purchased a Pypes o/r X-pipe and a set of those Flowmaster Super 44 dumps. I put everything together, oh and yes I installed the MIL Eliminators that everyone recommends. But yeah I wanted a loud exhaust, but this is really freaking loud. I have a 10" subwoofer and my exhaust shakes my car harder than my sub. Yes the interior drone is ridiculous. Have I perhaps missed something? Screwed up something during the install? Might I be experiencing an exhaust leak? My setup is as follows: upgraded ignition module, spark plugs, and wires. Cold air intake. oh and 212,000 miles on that built-ford-tough-v6. oh and yes it's a 1998 SN95 drop top.

This is typical of dumps...especially with off-road X-pipe.

The dumps basically direct the sound at the road which bounces back up into the car. Given that the fuel tank is in the viscinity of the dumps, the sound vibrates the tank and what you have is a VERY loud interior with a lot of vibration. Nothing is really wrong...this is just what life is like with dumps and off-road pipe

Tailpipes out the back would greatly reduce the interior noise and vibration.

Well, I guess I'll just suck it up and deal with it haha. Thanks for your help. Those tailpipes wouldn't affect my tone and loudness would they? Outside of the car I mean.

No, tailpipes don't change the tone, it might direct it in a different way if they turn down, but that's it.
