New Fox only magazine coming out!!!

There is at least ONE article in every single month on, or about the fox mustang..

While this is becoming more the norm these days, there were several months between late 04 (when the S197 came out) and now that that was not the case. In fact, I stopped subscribing to both MMFF and 5.0 in 07 for just that reason. When Modified Mustangs went "classic", right after I had reupped for a 3 year subscription, I was given the opportunity to transfer that subscription over to MMFF and have been pleasantly surprised that Fox content is somewhat on the rise. HOWEVER, S197 coverage dominates in both of those titles and 90% of the advertisements are for new S197 parts. Since the people building the parts for the new cars are the ones paying the bills, I understand why they get most of the articles. That said, 50Resto, Fox Mustang Restoration, NPD and a bunch of other companies keep coming out with new stuff and I'd like to hear about it when it hits the market.

I'm excited to see what Patterson does with this title and you should be too. A magazine like this will generate more interest in the cars we all enjoy and may result in companies making more and better products for them if they see that fan base is there to support them.

This is great! Finally some good reading material for the john! I subscribed for a year, and I was order number 100! Mr. Patterson, I could use a weatherstripping kit. I don't ask for much.

What's with the weird picture flashes in their videos though?

I wonder if i subscribe if they will do electronic and home delivery, that way i can read it off the wifes nook when im away from the magazine...

anyone find out if its mustang only or other fox platformed cars?

On their FB page they said that it will be both in print and on-line.

I spoke with a rep for this magazine at the All Ford Nationals and was excited to hear this mag was finally going to become a reality. The rep was collecting people's info that were interested in a magazine like this and there was no shortage of fox guys throwing there info in the box.

I still get a small amount of excitement when I open the mail box after a ball busting day of work and see that shiny magazine cover with some sweet built Mustang. I have done the e-zine thing and it just doesn’t give me that same feeling. I feel that a magazine like this will keep the aftermarket knowing us Fox guys are still playing with these cars and still spending our hard earned money on them. Not to mention this could potentially get new people strolling by the newsstand interested in the Fox keeping the market alive and on the rise.

Personally i dont see what all the fuss is about. From 2001 to 2005 there was a ton of fox articles in MM&FF and 5.0 mag, and then a few years back i remember reading an article that was exactly the same bolt on guide that i read back in 2002. Its just repeating stuff thats already been written.

There's some truth in that, but at the same time, there is "new" Fox stuff going on. For example, Trick Flow just released all that EFI 351 Cleveland/Clevor stuff, and 5.0M&SF just did a feature on putting a 408 Clevor with the new Trick Flow stuff in a Fox.

Something else, is the turbo-powered Fox craze is growing astronomically, and that was not in the mags 10 years ago.

There's definitely "new" material to be covered, the mags just need to get on board with it.

I agree that there is new material, but turbo mustangs have been in those magazines for years and my the kind of feature cars that i would like to see are not in those magazines. Unless the car is stuipd fast, or a show car you wont see it in a magazine. Id like to see the stuff thats in the middle somewhere.

The website for this magazine dosent seem like its gonna be too great either. I mean, look at the gallery and upcoming article pages... two convertibles and an article on how to restore paint. It looks like its going to be a stockish/restoration mag.

They say in their mission statement that its going to be for more mild builds. They are going to leave the wild stuff to other mags. Its better this way. For me anyhow because I'm not shooting for Un-Godly amounts of power. Just something fun to play with on the streets.

I have given up on magazines. For one, I don't want to be one of those who gets his info from one. Secondly, every magazine goes for the same profile. They feature cars, sometimes its good, but most of the time they either show you one of three things:
1. A buildup that none of us could ever afford to do, and done by a shop and the owner just had deep pockets and emptied them on the car.
2. Some random car that is typical of what you see when someone pops the hood of their car, where it talks about what the owner is "planning" on doing.
3 Some all glam, no go wonder douche mobile that is if anything, tacky. I think what turned me off of one magazine is when they fatured a car where they guy took the 5.0 out, put in a 3.8V6 and put a turbo on it. It wouldn't be all that bad except this idiot that said he was all serious about going fast, had CHROME everything on the car. I think he said he managed a 13.8 in the 1/4. I never bought a magazine since.

^ This. Otherwise I wouldn't have been too interested.

Anything worth doing to a fox has already been well documented and is on the net. I will not pay more money for a 3 issue build up of how to install an entry level performance package, a 2 page lay out of someones resto or low mile garage queen, and like mentioned the mountain of ads. There are plenty of world class machines and well documented builds on this and other mustang forums.

Some of us like to read the same thing all over again from a different perspective. sure, there are some great write ups everywhere but nobody has a be all end all write up. so one more source isn't gonna hurt.

I really can't wait to get my hands on the first issue!

I agree w/ you to an extent. I think the magazine will reach more eyes than a forum, so in effect thousand(s) more will see a given project than the thousand that stumble upon any given build posted on a forum. What they won't see in the mag ( due to page space) is the extent of the build that the forum allowed an owner to post.

I also am one that hates to spend money on yet another magazine w/ "paint your car" on the cover, or some other rehash of some basic tech that is best learned by just turning a wrench. A subscription forces me to accept that. That's why I prefer to buy at a newsstand where I can preview the mag before I choose to buy it.

What I want to see in the magazine is the average joe builds that weren't done by Troy, or Chip, or any of the other shops that are located in the same state the magazine was published (I.E. California.) TurboFox has built a beautiful car, as well as MacN89BBlckstng, or SVT32VDOHC and countless others that may never get seen in any mag. Great stuff like that comes and goes here on this forum every single day, day in day out.

If a magazine were to focus on builds like that and keep the been there-done-that tech crap to a minimum, I'm all for it.
As for the ads....(I kinda like the ads, I use it for quick reference when I need something):nonono:

Not all of us have been around foxes forever. Not all of us have seen all of the back issues and on line articles I keep hearing of. I for one have had several foxes but have never restored one or tore one down until this one I am currently working on. I would love to see affordable builds that the average joe can actually build. I look at the moeny spent on the magazine as money I would have blown anyways so good or bad at least I can look at some foxes. I enjoy learning from all of you guys on here and have learned alot in my short time being on this forum. I respect everyone has opinions and has the right to voice them that is why I served my country and still serve my community. I personally am looking forward to the issue arriving at my door as I still am in the process of building my car and finding out diffrent ways to do things and all of the add ons. Just my two cents:D
