Yeah, I know how you feel, I felt the same way when I saw my first model A in the ford showroom back in 28, I was only 40 then ha ha. Just kidding, I'm not that old, just feel like it at times. However I am glad to see that there are some older folks like myself driving these modern classics. I believe this retro styling has brought alot of us old timmers back into the fold. I'm 48 and can still drive a stang like I stole it. My 07 is like having my 68 fastback all over again. I'm glad to see that your not to old to shift either, if your not shifting your not driving a real stang. This is a great site, after your here for awhile you won't be able to help yourself from modding your car. Mine was only fast enough for the first week, then decided it needed more gear. 4:30's should do the trick and it did except then I needed an intake and a tune and the rest is history, I'm still modding. It needes louvers and hood pins, stripes, the list goes on, but it keeps me young. Enjoy your vert and welcome to the club.

You've got that straight! My wife wanted to know why I had to have a Mustang with a V8. I explained that if it doesn't have a V8, it's not a Mustang, it's a gelding...
(The V6 guys are going to hate me for that one...)

Different strokes for different folks.....Judging by my own experience I would bet that sooner or later someone will tell you that a convertible is a girly car. Whatever. I used to know a girl that was a model and a very tenacious boxer in some tough Detroit gyms that scared me and her white 5.0 vert was mean. She even had custom exhaust work done that looked better than any setup I have ever seen on a 5.0 GT. Thanks to her, when people make cracks about my girly car I just smile and kindly agree.
No one has mentioned girly car yet, but I sure have gotten a bunch of mid-life crisis comments. It's all in fun, as were my earlier comments in this post.
A V6 car would likely have been just as fun as this one, and a bit more practical MPG-wise. I think the authentic V8 rumble has more meaning to those of us who remember when the legendary late 60s and early 70s muscle cars were new in dealer showrooms. I couldn't afford one then...
This is not a mid-life crisis car for me. I've owned several fast/sporty cars. To me the current Mustang is pure nostalgia. And I'm loving every moment of it. Ford did an awesome job of capturing the heart and soul of the original Mustangs with this car.

i went with magnaflow axle back muffler replacements. have a nice deep sound, no noticeable drone (unlike the SLP's I had on my 01). have a nice rumble at idle, nice sound when you get on it, but minus that horrible drone at 70mph.

Supposedly Corsa mufflers produce little to no drone. A little more expensive, but maybe worth it.
