New GT500 Screwed!

I understand how yall feel about having an car like that and being so young. I have to admit that I have been blessed, but that doesn't mean that i am spoiled or anything. I imagine that if i had to save up to be able to afford a car like mine, it would make owning one even more satisfying. I have the utmost respect for folks who work hard to make an honest living. Since that how my father and grandfather got to where they are right now. The only reason i got a new car though was because of my driving record and grades and stuff like that. So i guess i sorta earned it, but not in the sense that you guys are talking about. But you won't ever see me ragging the hell out of my car in some parking lot. I'm sorry if i offended anyone in the previous post. My apologies.

Time and Place is correct, problem I see is the engine and trans were not even anywhere near break in period.

As far as gasket settling, cylinder oiling, etc, cars are now broken in enough when they hit the showroom floor. In fact, for the best performance, you'll want to drive it as hard as you normally will during the first few thousand miles. The engine technically is breaking in during this period, along with your ecm, but they also learn from you. If you drive it like a grandma for 10,000 miles, then decide to go beat the crap out of it, it's not going to take kindly to it. Plus, you're under factory warranty. If something's going to go wrong, you want it to go wrong right away. Anyway, we've purchased 3 new cars with under 100 miles on them, and all of them have been driven like they already had thousands of miles on them, and not a lick of problems.

Oh, and this guy wins the douchebag of the year award. Congrats! That's worse than that video of the guy driving down the street, being a hotdog, and jumping the median and hitting those cars. I think insurance companies should have to give you some kind of driving test before insuring you on a car with more than 300 horsepower, if you're under 25.

Here are the Facts as I see them.

2. Mom and Dad (Mr and Mrs Dumbass)
3. Crowd watching this dumbass show, dumbasses
4. Tow truck drivers, jackasses
5. Young kids being given cars, assinign
6. The problem is that some of the best drivers in the world are these kids 14-25 that are killing the world in racing circuits all over the place. Should they be able to drive cars on the street, YES, like DUMBASSES, Not just no but hell No.
7. My first car, Cadillac Cimmaron (thats right, you've never heard of it because in 1982 they gave them away for free when you bought a DeVille they were so crappy) for $200 bucks and a jump start to take it to be fixed. 31 cars later and i have the stang, made a profit on every one of those pieces.
Those are the facts as i see them and i say let kids drive like bats out of hell on the track. :SNSign:

If I could afford one (I'm 53) it would be treated with respect, driven only at the speed limit, and continue to look like new until I die.
It is a work of art and should be treated as such and driven on occasion.

Why don't you buy a 6 and dress it up, if you plan on babying it then won't it serve the same purpose? Seems like a crime to me to buy a GT500 and not drive it, but I respect your opinion. When I get mine next year I will drive it like it is equippped to be driven: hard.

Not all kids are dumb, when I was 15 I was dating rich girls and beating on Daddy's Porsche and burying their Range Rovers in the mud, I rolled a new Explorer when they first came out and had ripped out the transfer case about a half hour before that, you can call that dumb but I had a ball and the only people it cost money were those dumb rich guys that did not worry what happened with their vehicles once their Sweet 16 had the keys.

I have a 2005 V6 and a 1966 convertible. I drive the 2005 and baby the convertible, candyapple red with white top, V-8, etc.
I have to admit that is more than many people can afford and I am very grateful. I do wish, though, that I could afford a GT 500. I would drive it but also would baby it. I drive my 2005 each and every day but I also keep it immaculate and in show condition almost all the time. It can be done. I do not hot rod. I think that is stupid. If I had a GT500 I would like to take it on the track at least a couple of times. I had a 2003 Mach 1 that I traded a couple of years ago. I babied it. I regret not having taken it to the track at least once.
I have owned dozens of Mustangs. I have been very fortunate.
