just got he mustang and love it ,but get a weird noise as im dving cant pinpoint it. when i press the gas pedal it drives but i hear a little metalic noise under acceleration it sounds lie it coming fom the back i cant figure it out . maby you gus have some ideals . its a 5 speed 5.0 v8 1994

First an foremost, do a FULL tuneup, and clean the MAF Sensor with some alcohol. See if it helps. Look at the spark plugs for any signs of oil or detonation (whiteness on the plugs).

Does it kind of have a sound, like rocks in a metal can when you put your foot down?

also, check to see if the exhaust pipes are loose in the back, they might just be rattling against something

thanks guys i will look at the exhaust `but i noticed the engine is in good shape just need to figure it out if i drivelike a old man i dont hear the metalic running sound but if i drive with a little force i hear it dont know what it is but might be a trans mout or rear end

Its ping... Clean your maf.... Check your harmonic balancer.

a pinging sound definately comes from the front, so if you are sure it is underneath you or behind you, i bet it is something else.

can you put the car up on stands so you can get under it? my bet is still that the exhaust is loose or off a hanger somewhere. do NOT get under it with only the jack ford gives you to change a tire.
