New Horse in the Stable

Sorry, not a Mustang, but it is Ford powered (351w) and will fair alot better in New England winters than the '94. And I'll be putting a plow on it to hopefully make a green winter.

It's a 1995 Bronco from Florida (so it's in mostly good shape). Let's hear it for Ebay.

The tailgate has got the typical Bronco rust, but I have one in decent shape that's on the black Bronco you can see in the last pic.

This truck should be pretty good for plowing and towing as it has a factory auxilliary tranny cooler and an oil cooler (similar setup to the Cobras) between the block and the filter.

Keepin' it real with another porno red interior.

The Mustang will be going into the garage when the snow flies and will hopefully be coming out with some decent mods.

Nice full size bronco...I have a 90. Half arse trying to sell mine, but when/if/hope that with a new job I can afford to get mine on the road again the way I want it (without the AOD I just replaced)

oh my god my dad just got rid of his bronco after having it for 12 years....what a wonderful vehicle it was.....AMAZING in the snow, and just a great all around truck with a buttload of tq

Why didnt they call the Cobra the Bronco instead? If you think about it, a mustang is a wild horse, but the bronco is a badass wild horse, a cobra is a snake

My Dad has a 94 F150 Eddie Bauer Edition with the 351W. He bought it new and it's got 120k on it now. It's a great running motor and it has never left him stranded yet (knock on wood). It's still got the stock waterpump, power steering pump, etc. Everything is VERY solid.

Bad part: it gets about 11 MPG around town and 16 on the highway at 70 MPH. It sure is the **** though...

This one has the E4OD, which I don't mind mainly 'cause of the plowing. Every done residential snow plowing with a stick . I'll save the stick for the Mustang. Thanks for the link, I'll have to check out that site.

Glad everyone likes the truck. I think I may want to put a limited slip in 'cause I've currently got 3.55 open diff.

It has 106,000 miles on it and I know these are getting hard to find.

One last thing. Wasn't their a sticky on StangNet about replacing the gear on a power window motor? The drivers side is a strong motor, but it slips at the top.

there is a sticky in the 94-95 tech section for the window lift bushing. its in the specific FAQ sheet thread.

Its better to plow with a granny low 4spd or granny low 5spd that are 100x's stronger than the AOD/E4OD though...Plus I found 4 of the G.L. 4spds for 250 each from bell to tail. I spent about 1k on the AOD. With the taller tires it kills the powerband and I dont want to kill a prefectly good AOD but gears are $$$since there are 2 sets and anything 4.11+ you need a new front unit like a locker or other so its either a wide ratio 4spd/5spd with a low gear to help with the 3.55's or gears...if I do need gears later I dont have to get so much gear (need 4.56's to gain anything powerwise with 33-35's, 4.30's put you in the stock range).

Well, you'll probably have less work to do on the tranny with a granny low truck manual gearbox, but way too much operator fatigue.

My '91's tranny was slipping some when I retired it, and it was an E4OD with 210,000 miles on it with no rebuilds.

Besides, the plowing is only part time work for me.

I'd throw an M5OD-R2 in there ..... or better yet ..... a ZF! Nice ride, though.

nice find. i bought a 95 f-150 4x4 with the 351w. two days later the e40d went out. all told i still only have 5500 doll hairs in it. it came with a tonnau cover, really helps pull that 11 mpg up to about 17mpg.

that M5OD sucks, its weak even for a 1/2 ton and should have stayed in the mazda trucks not fullsize trucks, the ZF is the 5spd I was talking about, the 4spd is a np435. ZFs are tanks, OD with granny low and 2 pto take offs if you can find one at a good price jump on it...they are pricy though.

Gotta love the full size,

What is the tow rating on the full size bronco? I have always wanted one, but every used one I find is rusted to hell and back.

should be able to tow a car on a trailer...I wouldnt go cross country or anything but 1hr to the track and back should be preaty ok.

Replacement parts are not too $$$, the best thing to do about the tailgate is get a fiberglass one and who cares what it looks like lifted with battle damage and a sound drivetrain is dead sexy
