new intake problems

so this past weekend me and my buddy put on my new GT40 intake. as we were taking the old one off we broke off 2 bolts in the heads. After a couple days of drilling we finally get one out and re-tap and all but the other (rear right one) we had to leave in there. runs great but when i shut the car off it sounds like fluid is dripping somewhere from that area. cant really seeing leaking out but im kinda concerned.


is there a way to fix it if thats where its leaking from without pulling the whole thing apart again?

i dont think you can fix it without taking it apart.so is it oil or water leaking out

its leaking coolant. im going to pull the oil plug and see if coolant is getting into the oil if it is then i guess its time to pull it again!

were you sure to cover the front and back curved gaskets completely in RTV gasket maker? I think you should pull it and re-seal it.

i guess i might have to do that. what up using that radiator leak stop stuff? would that help out a little bit. Its just that im back at college right now and dont really have the time nor the tools here to pull it right now.

also the temp has been a little crazy recentlly. I ran it for a 4 hour trip and it was fine. now i drove to work 15 min and it almost over heated. it'll get close to overheating then cool all the way back down to below half way!

here's what I did: beast broke off 2 bolts in my gt40's, i had both of them drilled out in about 1 1/2hrs. now it seals up great, and no worries!!

make time and plan the fix, get it apart, drill out the other broken bolt and re-thread it, do it right the first time, no sense is hacking up your engine and not doing it right

ok i found a really good deal on gt40 heads and im going to barrow my buddies scooter as a daily driver until i have the time and tools to fix it all!!

yay for riding a scooter for the next 2 weeks!!!

Did you cover the front and rear gaskets in RTV to begin with? If not there lies the problem. You HAVE to do that or it will leak, no question about it.

welp im going to have to tear it all apart and put in some GT40's. the best part is im going to have to do it in a parking lot of my apt complex with nothing but a craftsman tool kit! going to be fun!!!

now i just need to find some GT40's!!!

slip joint pliers are your best friend... Except for the head bolts, you can do it all with them.
