New Manifold

That Edelbrock Clevor intake looks sweet.

The intake port on the CHI 3V head has the intake port raised to the top of the 4V port location, so it probably wouldn't mate up to the old Track/Street Boss or new Edelbrock intakes without some work (they are in the stock 2V location near the bottom of a 4V port). A stock Boss 302 intake will cover it, but there would be a pretty good mismatch that would probably really hurt airflow unless you built it up with epoxy. The exhaust is only raised a 1/4" IIRC, so that wouldn't be a problem.

As far as I can tell the only intake available for the CHI 3V head is the giant single 4BBL also from CHI for both 302 and 351W deck heights. Now if Edelbrock would cast a streetable intake for the CHI head, that would really be great... OK just dreaming here.

Shoot them an email. A couple of days ago I contacted them about what I thought was a dream. I expected to get the usual " Doesn't fit in with our corporate plans." Instead I got emailed a part number for this manifold of my dreams. All these manifolds talked about are popular engine combos and I still scratch my head woundering why they haven't been in production ten years ago. They make parts for some really obscure uses, and I can't beleve that they wouldn't sell enough to at least justify small yearly runs. I'm sure this manifold and the cleveland heads are because of enough demand they had to listen. They may have figured out that people who have been doing this for a long time are getting bored with same old thing. 302 blocks, 2bbl heads are cheap and very easy to find. Never tried to fit a boss in a '65 but has to be easier than 351's.

Dave... oh Dave..... who's your buddy? who's your pal? do you love me or what? i only ask because i found some info you'd be really...really... really interested in.

Looking for B&A Ford?? I received an email from a guy not too long ago with a whole bunch of old articles and information on the swap along with some B&A brochures and price sheets. I gave the phone numbers on them a call and spoke to a nice guy that, as far as I can tell, is what used to be B&A Ford Performance. He is still casting the parts, but does not deal directly to the public. He gave me the number for Bush Performance (located in Michigan), the main guys that he works with. You can give them a call at 501-646-9108 and he suggested speaking with Guy or Bill. They should be able to get any of the swap parts listed below. I may give them a call sometime soon here and see about getting a list of prices/part numbers etc and putting it online. Good luck!!

i think you're gonna owe me lunch for this or something.

they are also offering a cmoplete top end package kit for the 302 and 351 clevor with heads, intake, carb, cam & lifters, timing chain, bolt kit and gaskets

EDIT: BTW, you have a choice between hydraulic cam and lifters or just a hydraulic roller cam.

you guys need to go to edelbrock's web site and download the 2008 new products catalog. they have all kinds of cool new stuff coming out, new injection kits, new performer RPM low riser 427 heads, black powder coated Nascar edition intakes, some cool new air cleaners and valve covers and even PRM heads for 409 chevy motors, now that's kinda cool.

some really cool stuff. makes me wanna go get a 427 genesis block and a 409 chev to stuff in something. they even have some cool flathead stuff.

I have one ordred and will post some pics next to my real boss intake for grins. It's not due until 11\27. This manifold isn't a huge price break over an original , but I know it will make a much better street set up. I really didn't want to do anything to the original. I have a 4118-s holley 725 cfm carb to try out. Might be a bit large but worked for 289 Shelby's.

Looks like a Blue Thunder with factory markings.

i doubt it's a blue thunder piece since it's made in australia. it's supposed to be basically a copy of a stock 4v intake but with better ports and such. paint it blue and no one would be the wiser. it's not exactly a be all end all piece or even, really all that much of a high performance piece but for the resto crowd it could be just the ticket to a better flowing aluminum intake and be able to keep their shakers in the right place.

i thought the blue thunder stuff was made in the US. oh well, so much for that thought. most people complain that the intake is raised too far to keep the shaker in the stock location, it sticks up too high is what i've heard.
