First time poster. I got a 64 1/2, 289, 4sp, drum brake, manual steering coupe. I'm in the rebuild process. I have named the car "Homer" because of all the Homer's that have owned it in the past. If it could be messed up in any way, it is. I mean everything! The good part is the car came from California so rust is very minimal. I have completed the toploader rebuild and powdercoat, I must put a plug for Mark at Toploader Heaven. Great guy and a fantastic guide to rebuilding a toploader. I'm waiting for my Flaming river rack and pinion, tilt steering, and front disc conversion. Of couse all new upper and lower arms ect... I have a long way to go but it will be worth it in the end. I will keep pictures coming in if you want. Until the next time, SHU

Thanks for the welcome. I have been dealing with Kevin at KAR for alot of my parts and he really knows what is going on. He has his hands on and has installed the parts he sells, no suprises when the parts arrive. I will be posting with questions as I move along. Thanks, SHU

I am in Grafenwöhr. Any former Army guys will know where this is. Would the members living in Germany please email me about getting parts, mainly a windshield. Thanks, SHU

www.mightymustangs.net has a lot of USAF and Army members based in Germany. THere are some mustang places in the NL where you can get parts and have repairs done. ONe guy whom I can recommend you avoid based on my personal experience is a guy named PYt Jaarsma of Motown parts in Hartwerd. http://www.automobielbedrijfjaarsma.nl/ He gave me a written estimate of between EUR 700 and 1000 to install a parking brake cable, put in new lines on my rear brakes, install a new U joint, and tune the car. He charged me EUR 1800, used the wrong U joint causing my car to shudder from the vibrations, replaced a perfectly good condensor that was in the distributor and installed an incompatible condensor that blew, resulting in my being stranded on the side of the road a million miles from no where. As for the tune up, my car was running 12 second quarters when it left the US but when I got it from him, it performs like a 6 cyl diesel running on 3 cylinders. I have to pay somebody else big bucks to fix this fool's incompetent but-f***ery. Based on what he did to my car, you would think he had never fixed a mustang before in his life.
