I LOVE the new Death Magnetic album from Metallica... Only it burns up subwoofers...

I had an MTX 8000 10" burn up in my truck last week and the week before my buddy burned up a Soundstream 12" XPL... neither of them cheap subwoofers...

This is bumming me out a bit...

Anyone else having these issue with this album.

Try turning down the volume.

I know they mixed the album to sound a little "hot" and distorted [loud], but I didnt know it could blow out subs, if thats the case. Some fans are demanding that they should re-release a cleaner sounding version or the CD, apparently there is a clean version of DM on Guitar Hero.

It is funny too since both of us had the gains turned down... I always put max gain, set the amp sensitivity to get max un distorted volume, then turn it down a bit so I don't think I was overdriving the sub.

I thought you were going to say they were charging $50 for the album because that's something Metallica would do.

I finally checked this out for myself, you can tell the difference between the CD and Guitar Hero.

Make sure you watch it in high quality with headphones or really good speakers.

I noticed that Metallica has sucked since Master of Puppets.

Supposedly they used a Low-Fi recording style to try and capture the old fan base back. People aren't stupid though, it doesn't sound like old Metallica, it sounds like New Metallica trying to sould like old Metallica.

That was a good post LiquidGT!
