New Motor Pics (polished electric water pump)

i just recently took the motor down to the heads and timing chain so i could repaint the lower intake, timing cover, balancer, alternator, and the front of the block. i also installed a meziere electric water pump, polished model. all the brackets in the vortech kit like the L-shaped alternator baracket and the tensioner bracket i sanded down and used some mothers polish to shine them up. i still need to change the oil so dont mind the oil filter with the overspray on it, just picture a motorcraft filter there because thats what i have in my toolbox waiting to go on!

You spend too much time on your car E.
Kidding...it looks great dude.

What are the reliability issues of an electric waterpump for a cruiser/DD? Someone told me a while ago that they were really drag-only applications. Maybe they were wrong...
Great job again E.

Wow .... that looks awesome man. Good job!

Those pics have me really wanting to get rid of my AC & PS now. Do you mind posting in my thread in "Tech"? It should be up toward the top somewhere. Looks like you have some first hand experience there.

thanks ben, u know how i can be with this car! i'm not really too sure of the reliability issues of the electric w/p, i haven't driven it enough yet to determine. from all the research i did before actually getting it alot of people using them were very happy with them.

Damn, now it's the outsides turn. I know you've posted them but who cares.

PS, where'd you get that coolant return chrome pipe?
i could post some exterior shots but i know some are sensitive to us pic whores. r u talking about the chrome radiator tubes that replaced the hoses? they're from mac, i think the 2 piece kit was around $90. i have them a few years now, i think they are getting pretty scarce now.

looks nice, glad to see someone else using the blue rtv gasket stuff ..

the black rtv stuff made for waterpumps is a bitch to remove.
r u insane?! do u think i would use that much rtv?:nono: the blue "gasket stuff" is the gaskets itself, put on dry with no messy sealant on there. the only place i put a thin layer of sealant on was the thermostat gasket.

Few questions
Those wires cut to fit, or just the pre assembled ones?
What did you use to polish the front of the head
How are you likeing that pump?

the wire were pre-assembled, i used some mothers polish to polish up the front of the head. the pump seems pretty good so far, i haven't really driven it that much since i put it in, maybe 15 miles. i did notice the motor seems to rev a bit quicker, probably due to no drag being created by a mechanical water pump.
