Ok here is the deal 1st let me start with what im working with..
306 Stock crank and rods with SLP pistons
70MM TB
F-Cam
1.6 RR
Strike force Aluminum heads 2.02/160
Trick flow intake STREET
30# inj C&L Mass air and elbow
MSD coil
MSD 6al But it is not working
and a DIRTY air filter until i get my rig setup for fender mount intake with the C&L elbow
255 pump

OK this is what ive noticed... Now before i put this motor in i would notice my car do this when it the motor wasnt up to temp.. it feels like i have some power but it aint all there..Then it will feel like i jus got kicked in the ass and take off... Now it doesnt do this all the time tho... Sometimes it feels strong all the time.. Now here is what im wondering... Dirty filter sending bad signals of air thru the mass air?>? Timing?? I belive i have it on 12 deg. CPU??? And what fuel pressure do yas think? Right now im at 38psi.

Any input would be good

Thanks Craig

I have had the same problem with my 5.0HO Mark VII and cant figure what it is either. I have replaced plugs, wires, cap, rotor, EGR valve and the sensor, A/T service, LOF and cleaned throttle plate, and cleaned K&N air filter, all this at the same day and time. And the problem is still there. It runs just fine like you said but you can feel the surge when you step on it. Sorry I dont have anything for you but if some one does know I would like this information also.

Is your fuel pressure with or without vacuum? Put a fuel pressure gauge on it, and see how it does when its running. What intake manifold are you running? Did you do a tune up when you changed the engine? Was timing set with the spout connector out?

I'd increase the fuel pressure to 45 vac. off and adjust it down if necessary. 38 is too low..

Ok well i didnt get my timing light out to double check buttt...i jumped the pressure up to around 43-44psi on fuel reg. and got my intake hooked up...Still same problem...This has been the best night tho for it... I was out on a long stetch of road ... put the car in 4th at about 60-65 and floor it... Now it feels like it has about the same amount of power with stock motor in then youll feel it pull real hard and let off then it might pull real hard again...???....I dont know ... it would be pretty fast if it would pull that hard all the time.. Now do u think me running MSD blaster coil with out the MSD hooked up has anything to do with it?? Im at a loss right now.. Ive got some guys around here i can check with and let them feel what its doing but damnit :SNSign: help me out ...

Running an msd shouldnt hurt anything as long as you are still running some kind of ignition box. Doesnt have to be msd. Now since youve changed the TB, and injectors, have you had the computer flashed? If not, the computer thinks it still has stock injectors and that could be part of the problem. Another problem is a possible bad fuel sending unit. May not have enough voltage at the pump which will cause a shortage of fuel once in awhile if its a bad connection in the tank.

Ok.. Update here.. I checked my timing its on 12 deg... I took the plug out of the dist. and took it down the road to see what would happen with out the computer running it and its alot worse.
